Privacy policy for legal advice and marketing

This personal data policy applies to Tvermoes Advokater ApS's clients, other case participants, including counterparties and witnesses, business partners and others involved in the processing of a specific case or as part of our marketing. Below is a description of how we handle information that we come into possession of.

Legal advice

1. Data responsibility

Tvermoes Advokater is the data controller for the processing of your personal data that we have received about you. Our information is the following:

2. Types of personal data

In connection with the processing of cases at Tvermoes Advokater, we may collect many types of personal data about you from several different sources. It will most often come from you or your representative, but it may also be collected from the authorities or from other case participants. We only collect relevant, necessary and general personal data about you for the purpose of our counselling. 

Tvermoes Advokater may in some cases process sensitive personal data and information about criminal offences when necessary for the case.

3. The purpose of our processing of your personal data

At Tvermoes Advokater, personal data is only processed for the purpose of handling our counselling services to the extent necessary, including as documentation. Among other things, they are processed so that we can

  • fulfil our obligations under the Money Laundering Act
  • fulfil our agreements in connection with our services
  • fulfil our obligations under the law
  • Enter into and fulfil agreements with any business partners or suppliers.

4. Recipients

Tvermoes Advokater has a duty of confidentiality, and personal data is therefore generally treated confidentially. However, to the extent necessary for our counselling or where we have a legal obligation to disclose personal data, we may disclose personal data to external third parties, including public authorities, police and courts, counterparties, representatives, witnesses and experts. 

Furthermore, we are obliged to disclose your identity information to the financial institution where we hold our client account.

5. Storage and deletion

Tvermoes Advokater stores personal data until it is no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which the data was collected. 

Data for case management purposes is generally stored for 10 years after the case is closed, unless specific circumstances dictate that we store the data for a shorter or longer period. Personal data on clients will thus generally be stored until any claim in connection with the client relationship has expired. 

Personal data obtained in accordance with the Money Laundering Act will be stored for 5 years after the end of the client relationship or the completion of an individual's transaction and will then be deleted.


6. Other duties under the Money Laundering Act

The Danish Anti-Money Laundering Act stipulates, among other things, that we have a duty to notify the Money Laundering Secretariat if we become aware of, suspect or have reasonable grounds to suspect that a transaction, funds or an activity is or has been related to money laundering or terrorist financing. 

In addition, in certain cases, we are required to carry out customer due diligence procedures, which include obtaining information on the client to verify their identity and business.

7. Client's rights

When we process your personal data, you have a number of rights:

  • Right of access to the data we process about you, its purpose, where we got it from, recipients of the data and storage period.
  • Right to rectification of your personal data.
  • Right to erasure of data about you when it is no longer necessary to fulfil the purpose of the collection or when you withdraw any consent, etc.
  • The right to have our processing of your personal data restricted in a number of cases.
  • Right to object to our or lawful processing of your personal data.
  • Right to - in some cases - receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, as well as the right to have the data transferred to another controller.

You also have the right to complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the law. Marketing and commercialisation

1. Registration for events

When you register for one of our events, we process the following information about you, your company or organisation: Name, email, phone number and if relevant we ask for company name, geographical location and information about any questions and answers regarding our legal advice. We use your information to plan the event and to ensure relevant counselling and follow-up after you have attended our event. When you fill out our contact form, your data will be stored at Dandomain, which is our web host. 

If the event is organised in collaboration with one of our partners, we will disclose this information in order to plan and, if applicable, share the attendee list with our partners, presenters and participants.

2. Sign up for the newsletter

When you sign up for the newsletter from Tvermoes Advokater, you provide the following information about you: your name and e-mail address. By signing up for the newsletter, you consent that we may send you the newsletter and that we may retain and process your information when sending the newsletter.

You can always withdraw your consent and unsubscribe from the newsletter via the link in the newsletter or by contacting us at adv@tvermoes-advokater.dk. We use MailChimp newsletter platformwhich will register, store and process your data in the MailChimp system.

3. Visiting the website

We automatically collect information about you and your use of the website when you visit tvermoes-advokater.dk. We collect data about your behaviour and use cookies to optimise your user experience. You can read more in our cookie policy below.

4. Analysis and statistics

When we compile statistics and analyses, such as internal purchase analyses, we use your personal data. We always use it in anonymised form.

5. Communication with us

When you contact Tvermoes Advokater, we process the personal data that you provide when you contact us. To ensure the best possible help and follow-up on your enquiry regarding our services and advice, we process and store data that includes your communication with us by email or phone.

We only use your personal data for marketing purposes if you have given your consent to this in writing by email or by accepting our Privacy Policy.

6. Storage of your personal data

Tvermoes Advokater stores your personal data, but you can always ask to have it deleted. We only store your personal data for the period of time permitted by law in relation to the type of information we store.

7. Changes to the personal data policy

If we change the Privacy Policy, the new version will be available here on our website.

8. insights and complaints

You have the right to know what personal data we process about you. You can at any time object to the use of the data and, if necessary, request that it be corrected or deleted. You can contact the Danish Data Protection Agency if you want to file a complaint about the processing of your personal data.
